When D'Arcy took off for two months to Ecuador, we decided to keep on gigging, so we threw Ram on drums and hired on JP, a crazy street musician who makes his living by playing the Subway busking scene for six hours or more a day with his contrabass. His fingers are like mangled beef. We ended up writing several new songs and when D'Arcy came back, we decided to record an album. The root tracks (drums, guitar, bass, trombone, accordion) were recorded in one night! It all went down in D'Arcy's basement apartment on St Joseph, using the different rooms for separation and tracking everything onto a Tascam digital multi-tracker. The vocals came after, but this album was quick and dirty in every way.
